Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, said in an communication that he has already submitted a documented innocent declaration to the attempted murder allegation. Brown could be in a Miami courtroom as early as Wednesday morning for a bail proceeding, Eiglarsh said.
As per his arrest warrant, Brown is accused of taking a pistol from a security guard after a star boxing event in May and shooting multiple rounds at a man he had fought with before. The claimed individual, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, informed authorities that a bullet scraped his neck.
Eiglarsh asserted that Brown was merely defending himself from Nantambu.
“The actions he was compelled to take were purely in self-defense against the claimed victim’s hostile behavior. Brown was targeted that time and behaved within his rightful entitlement to defend himself,” Eiglarsh said.
Brown was not immediately arrested because initially officers did not identify Nantambu as a victim. It wasn’t until later in May that Nantambu delivered a full statement about the event to officers and named Brown as the shooter, the report says.
